Portrait photograph of Pablo Picasso, 1908

This work is in the public domain in the United States because it was published (or registered with the U.S. Copyright Office) before January 1, 1927.

This is a photo of Picasso in his 30s, brandishing a pipe and a snazzy coat. Though unknown what he is smoking at the moment, him and his Parisian friends would occasionally dabble in the smoking of opium. That is, until they lost a comrade from it, which he subsequently vowed to not touch the pipe again.
